In 2014 Adrian Heinzelmann founded his own workshop in Berlin-Schöneberg, which he shares with his partner Friederike Linscheid.
With his vocational education and academic degree in musical instrument making Adrian Heinzelmann is part of an excellently qualified younger generation of luthiers.
In 2016 he received the German Musical Instrument Award in the category Classical Guitar. The jury was convinced of a great dynamic, a precise attack and an extraordinary balance.
Optically, while modern in style, his guitars are reminiscent of those of Francisco Simplicio. In his systematically developed innovative top construction, fine grooves are worked out of the solid wood and spanned by a fine cedar lattice. This light weight construction in combination with stiff laminated sides results in instruments with excellent projection and transparency, and with traditional, natural and colorful sound.
“By constant questioning and reviewing of my concept I gradually refine my guitars. In addition to the conventional methods of tapping and bending of different parts I apply modern physical measurements to document and verify the construction of each guitar.”
